Wondering when to expect my TTB-email
WHAT A HECK! DAMN THEN!
(Now I am at my Mac, not iPad. No auto-misunderstandings.)
I want the car delivered by camel. I think it is the most environmentally friendly. Because we have no trains here in the north. And we got electricity last month. But only from the batteries. We could have had power before, but polar bear ate up the batteries.
I am in international business and do quite a lot of business with California. ALL shipments (containers) from California to Rotterdam (I am Dutch) are shipped from the West Coast through the Panama canal. Takes about 4 weeks.
It could indeed be done quicker by rail to the East Coast, but this calls for more logistical effort/work and (most important) is MORE EXPENSIVE!
So, the usual route from California is via the West Coast (Oakland). I am not saying Tesla is using that route, but it really is the most logical one for them to use.
Thanks for sharing this info.
Thanks, I was initially really surprised and am happy to stand corrected.
What the heck! Euphemism for What the Hell (is happening, is that, are you talking about etc.). Dad gum it.
Good bye, BTW, was originally "God be with you". Etc.
Did you hear about the dyslexic insomniac agnostic, who lay awake in bed every night wondering about the existence of Dog?
Actually, the joke is malformed because Agnostics formally consider the Question unanswerable.
dyslectic - a person who has dyslexia.
pedant - you guys :-)
Thx, don't know when that misspelling got embedded in my head. During a premature senior moment long ago, I guess.
Guys! Get on track...
Sorry. Couldn't resist the irony..
@svghome: can we stop discussing the route? Assume the Pirates of the Carribean are also reading this forum. They are now standing by to intercept our shipment of valuable goodies, ehh goods, of the coast of Venezuela. Sure glad the Dutch navy has a base there and am sure they will guide the shipment through to the Atlantic... ;D Ship AHOY...
Somebody just posted in the Norwegian Forum that there will be two events in Oslo Aug 7th (at 11 AM and 3 PM local).
OK, I would like to ask people who will attend these events to make some video's and put them on YouTube, so that we can all watch them. Is that a good idea or not?
(It is a smiley)
@Benz +1! :)
totally agree, maybe even Tesla could do that same/similar way as they did with first US deliveries (on June 22 2012 - oh yea, it feels like yesterday).
I even think that George Blankenship should attend this event. It's been a while since I have seen a speech of hime.
In Tilburg 4 Tesla Model S EV's have arrived already.
Heh-heh. Isn't specifying "Model S EVs" kinda double redundant? Tilburg will handle nothing but MSes for the next year or more, and all MSes are EVs.
Actually that's right, but you see I want to promote the EV, so I am using it as often as I can. At the moment the word "car" is more common than "EV", and I want that to be the other way around. Because a car can also refer to an ICE, and an EV does certainly not refer to an ICE. That's my point.
At "Tilburg" (TM's depot) the only cars coming in are MSes. Trust me, saying "Model S EV" sounds kinda silly.
Model S's would be better?
Yeah. But plurals don't take or require apostrophes. Just Model Ses is better.
dogs - more than one dog
dog's - belonging to the dog (or abbreviation for (the) dog is or dog has)
dogs' - belonging to the dogs
Many people have no clue about this stuff, though.
Are you a teacher? Or just pedant!
Ohhh how i long for my EV car. It will come soon!
I don't think it's pedant. Grammer is important.
"Tesla Motors manufactures this year only Model Ses, and next year they will also be manufacturing Model Xes. In the years further ahead they will also be producing Model Aes / Model Bes / Model Ces and the rest of the alphabet, but only not in aphabetical order".
Would that be OK grammer wise?
I think Brian swallowed "Eats, Shoots and Leaves":
Compromise: Model S vehicles ? ;-)
yep, that works.
koala to U2. ;)
@Benz - I thought I was anxious 'til I read your posts ;-) Still only 24 hours and we will get some real pictures and 1 day closer to the production and delivery of my car...
So now I will bump this on the hope someone from Europe can let me know if they have had any delivery information in the last few days...I still don't see my car in production and I still haven't had a delivery estimate e-mail :-(
No real news - but status has changed to "In Production"
Sig #144 - maybe first austrian delivery :)
@phoinix what source for your Information on Sig 144
Normal #84 europe has the 'factory is building your car' status since monday. No new information from tesla so far.
Estimated delivery when signing the contractact was 2nd or 3rd week in september. They might still be able to make it for that date, but I guess it will be a close call.
@norbert - my dashboard & Europe Sales Team Amsterdam

@phoinix gratuliere dir freu mich meine Vin soll bald kommen Lieferung Nov mal sehen
Bist du im tff Forum
To be honest, with EU deliveries Tesla has failed, first hand with communication. In pricelist still written that Signatures delivery early summer and rest late summer. First European cars delivered this week Norway and next week Switzerland. Obviously no EU certification yet. Which would be ok to communicate, everybody understands that it's not easy. To wait without info and pushed dates is not so pleasant, many of us having previous leases ending and do not know what to do. Some forums say that bonnet is too hard for pedestrian accidents, to produce new with different strength, getting it designed, produced, shipped, painted, fitted, certified does take quite some time. The truth we do not know. Hopefully there is no major problem. Everything else is premium with Tesla, the most I like is that they dare to go for innovative solutions, but communication is not premium. It costs nothing to improve that!
Europe is being delivered!
a few cars will be delivered this 22 of august in Tilburg and mine is scheduled for this tuesday 27 of august (ordered late 2009!) in Brussels
EU certification is not the issue any more but production!
the car has been "building your car" during +/- 10 days, and now "being prepared for delivery" for 3 weeks (transportation time)
assembly in tilburg for tax purpose and delivery a week later.
Delivery is rolling.
@JeanPierreD: Congratulations - what is your EU Sig# ? I ask as a fellow Sig who trys to wait patiently for my turn...
@kristjan.sinisoo - Totally agree, I put up my old car for sale when the status changed to "The Tesla Factory is building your Model S Signature Performance" about 6 weeks ago, and expected delivery before the end of August, as it says in my contract with Tesla.
Since my paperwork were completed and signed in early March, I have not got any indication from Tesla about the status or any other information about European matters. When I contacted them in early July, I got informed to expect delivery mid September. Since the end of July, I have twice asked for an update from Tesla, but the mails have not yet been answered...
Jean PierreD - Good to hear that delivery are rolling in EU countries as well as NO & CH. Gives me hope :)
jackie425: when i have placed my order, the EU list was not yet in force. So I have a sign US #14, vin 14982
angel: compared to earlier announcement, they have a month delay; on my contract, the car was said to be delivered end july-early august ...
Spot on! The European admin is simply LOUSY! They should communicate much more proactively, but no - all hearsay and nothing substantial. Are they in this world? We all have access to the UDS site and know pretty well what is going on. But they chose to play as if Europe deliveries are unrelated. Pathetic. I am VERY disappointed.
At last "The Tesla Factory is building your Model S Signature" !
