Special "Thing" for roadster owners

I was reading the thread on Model S TV and Movie sightings and forum member NKYTA posted an article about George Clooney not liking his Roadster.(http://www.teslamotors.com/forum/forums/tesla-tv-or-movie-sightings)

He linked this article: http://www.businessinsider.com/george-clooney-wasnt-impressed-with-tesla...

Which has an interesting quote at the bottom:
Tesla discontinued sales of the Roadster in 2011. In its S-1 filing at the time, the company said it doesn't plan on "selling our next generation Tesla Roadster until at least one year after the launch of the Model S."

Could this be the Roadster surprise Musk mentioned at TESLIVE?

No, that was for current owners, I think it has to do with secondary chargers at SCs, or slt.

NKYTA | November 12, 2013

Yeah, for the companies success, I think GenIII (model E) will be a higher priority than the Roadster II.

I'm going to have to disagree with NKYTA. I'm no expert, but if I had to guess, the "Model R" will see the prodution line sooner than the Model E.

Tesla will make a car for the masses some day. but that is a long term goal that is still a ways away.

Tesla is focusing on the "luxury" buyer right now and this will continue for a numebr of years yet.

just my $0.02

Gaive;
No, it's been said by TM some time ago that the Model E has priority. And the R will be built on the E skateboard, so it must exist first.

I think the next product after gen III will be a low production "supercar" based on S skateboard. Better be I want one!

Brian H | November 13, 2013

Based on E skateboard. Long is not wanted.

jonlivesay | November 13, 2013

I'd bet on it

AmpedRealtor | November 13, 2013

Maybe Clooney should get one.

jonlivesay;
Elon specified the E-platform would be used for the new Roadster long ago. You lose.
