New Model S Reservation holder

New Model S Reservation holder

Finally did it! I've placed my reservation for a Model S. Test driving the Roadster was the final straw...these cars are amazing. Oh, and I got a jacket to go with my reservation...

ipe | February 9, 2011

I reserved MODEL S #3012. However, if the 300m range battery is not available on the 1st production models, I will be holding my deposit for one of the 1st produced with that battery pack. I'm not interested in the 160m or 230m battery packs nor do I wish to buy then upgrade.

RobPaul | February 12, 2011

Just received my number on Feb 11, 2011 - I've got #3031. Seem like they got 19 more reservations in a couple of days! Pretty impressive.

docdac | February 12, 2011

I got #3030 on Feb 11th. Can't wait to drive one!

msiano17 | February 16, 2011

Based on michiganmodels great tracking it looks like we are at 4063 reservations grand total.

IMO that is absolutely amazing for a car that is new in every way. Further, based on other threads Tesla will produce 7,000 units their first year (hopefully). Assuming some delays, 5,000 units or so is a realistic bet, but seems to be everyone thus far. We can only hope we can all get it at the end of 2012.

Vawlkus | February 17, 2011

Maybe you can, but even if I reserved now, I would be lucky to see mine by 2013 -.-

Stupid boarder.

Brian H | February 17, 2011

V.;
You have a dummy renting a room from you? (boarder). That borders on intolerableness! ;)

Brian H | February 17, 2011

Actually, a "boarder" is someone who pays to eat meals with you. "Room and Board" means bed and food.

Brian H | February 17, 2011

Comes from old terminology, where a "board" was a table or buffet supporting the food.

Vawlkus | February 18, 2011

Yeah Brian, you Americans keep using up my electricity }B)

Brian H | February 18, 2011

Actually, I'm a Canuck, in Vancouver; just one of the invisible majority pro-American variety.

dsm363 | February 18, 2011

For the US, the Model S is at least up to R216 as of 1/2011

dsm363 | February 18, 2011

Sorry, that should be R218 as of mid January 2011

Brian H | February 20, 2011

Wow! That was a jump of 52 US Roadster sales in 2 days! Not tea bags ...

michiganmodels | February 20, 2011

Brian H - 2010 to mid January 2011 is one year, not 2 days.

Timo | February 20, 2011

It might be just two weeks. 31.12.2010 - 14.1.2011.

michiganmodels | February 20, 2011

Timo - Good point. Still, it is not 2 days.

Brian H | February 23, 2011

Best count he had 2 days earlier. :-p

kperl1 | February 23, 2011

I am in! Reserved a model S. Can't wait... but I have too :)

michiganmodels | February 24, 2011

Woot! reserved my MODEL S #P138!!! Can't wait!

michiganmodels | February 24, 2011

Royce Hall -

When did you place your reservation? Is that correct P138?

clea | February 24, 2011

#3133 reserved yesterday - wife finally caved after seeing the alpha S model in Chicago last wknd. 3133, going with reverse numerology i'm hoping for delivery march 3, -13

Mehdi | February 25, 2011

Wow that is 75 US reservations in 10 days, that used to be our monthly rate, not its going to be our weekly rate, Go Model S.
And welcome cblum.

dsm363 | February 25, 2011

Congrats. That was actually the prototype they had in Chicago but the Alpha will probably be shown soon.

han170 | February 25, 2011

I have always told myself never to buy the first production year of a new model. However, I have just made a reservation for a model S solely by reading about it on the internet. I feel strongly that we need to change to electric cars and that I need to support the company that has pioneered the change. My reservation number is 3139 of the general production. Now I want to look into building solar panels on my garage to charge the car. I don't know whether to start that or wait until the car is delivered.

Brian H | February 25, 2011

4197?

Brian H | February 25, 2011

@han170;
I suggest waiting. Tech is advancing so fast you'll probably get far more bang (Watts) for your buck in a couple of years.

Bolebo | February 26, 2011

I got my reservation number yesterday. It's EU P 427.
I would like to get a Signature edition, but I'm not willing to pay 30000 Euros upfront when price and specs are unknown.

dsm363 | February 26, 2011

Bolebo: You still have tons of time to decide on a Signature edition. I think there are supposed to be 1,000 for the European market (or is it every market outside the US) so could change your mind once they announce the specs.

dsm363 | February 26, 2011

I find is strange that the US has almost 8 times the production reservations that the Europe/Asia has. Glad there is so much demand in the US though.

Chelee | February 26, 2011

I live here in Florida and put the deposit down on the Model S last Saturday and have a number to share...it's P-3102. It's going to be a long 2 years. They projected late 2012 or early 2013 on the phone.

Joe Beda | February 26, 2011

I just plunked down my deposit yesterday. I'm US P 3146. It is going to be exciting to see the car develop and know I'll be one of the early owners.

Royce Hall | February 26, 2011

I was confirmed reservation on february 2nd P#138 Canada!

dsm363 | February 26, 2011

44 reservations since last Saturday. That's amazing. The pace is really picking up now.

patrickclaerhout | February 27, 2011

Since I (belgian guy) made my reservation on october 7 2010 and I've received nummer S#349, it seems to me that Europeans are more sceptical or less informed about the Tesla S.
Due to recent augmentation of oil prices, maybe they'll discover the Tesla S(olution). It's a pity that we in Europe have to wait until the beginning of 2013, because I think that once people see the car by their own eyes they will be more interessted.

Zorba | February 27, 2011

The difference between US and other continents is indeed quite interesting. But the fact that it is an American company already means a lot :-)
But in nearly every discussion I hear about electric cars, Tesla IS mentioned so people are starting to know the company name. I'm sure, once the Model S becomes official, sales in Europe will get better :)

BTW Patrick, around 40 fellow Belgians have ordered a Model S, which is already a lot imo.

tnawara | February 27, 2011

Finally took the plunge: Model S ordered today, and I'm happy to be part of the "club." I haven't received my number yet, but from the thread it sounds like I should be anticipating a late Q1 '13 delivery (?). My S4 should be able to hold out another two years.

Charged_Up | February 27, 2011

Michigan - I think your count on Signatures is off. I reserved in January and was initially given 195, but a reordering of the list resulted in me dropping to 92. This could be because there were duplications with the Roadster friends and family reservations, but I'm not sure. Hope that helps...

msiano17 | February 27, 2011

US Total 3572
Canada 148
Euro/Asia 482
Ausi 17

Grand total 4219

Anyone know how many Reservations Tesla was hoping to achieve? I would bet we have exceeded their expectations.
