Careers at Tesla

Hello, I am a graduate student in electrical engineering. I am nuts about cars and for a person like me tesla is the holy grail. If possible, I want to work at tesla after my graduate studies. I needed to know what courses could help me increase my chances of securing an internship or a job at tesla. I hope to major in embedded systems and am currently confused between energy systems & devices and design of digital control systems.

Tesla offers internships for current students according to their career page. Check the listings for jobs at Palo Alto HQ. There's a listing for an intern in firmware engineering (not quite the same as embedded systems, but still). You could probably appply now.

You may or may not have a legitimate gripe with Tesla, but there's no way you can make yourself look good doing this here, in this manner (and it's not really going to make Tesla look bad either).

Elon Musk

Cannot work for SpaceX :(

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

Applying to Tesla :)

- lawful permanent resident of the U.S

Are you saying Elon is not a lawful permanent resident of the U.S. It's OR, not AND.

Timo | September 9, 2012

I think he is saying that he can't work for SpaceX, so he is applying to Tesla.

In case anyone was curious, my previous post was in response to a post that has since been deleted.

Can anyone explain the third clause: "Eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State." ?

What does that mean for foreigner wanting to work at SpaceX?

I'm guessing just good references, and not being in NSA or CIA radar.

Good day gents. Does anyone know how to get in touch with Tesla HR other than the online application? I applied for the Head of Communications job in Beijing back in October and have gone back severals times to update my application but it seems its just getting lost in the huge pool of people that applied. I worked in the entertainment and automotive field so I think this is the perfect job for me (I also love the city of Beijing!). I know many media connections in China and a Tesla super fan. Just can'y get anyone to talk to me. If anyone here have received a call back on their applications please share your experience. Thanks!

Hello, I am a undergraduate student currently pursuing my B.Tech degree in electronics and communication engineering from Amrita University,Coimbatore,India. I am nuts about cars and for a person like me tesla is the holy grail. If possible, I want to work at tesla after my undergraduate studies.I actually thought of doing a combined project i.e. With the company, which will enhances my career. I don't to whom imI should contact and get the things done. I'm currently working on developing ALGORITHMS FOR SCHEDULING RTOS,in future combining it with AUTOMATION. I needed to know what courses could help me increase my chances of securing an internship or a job at tesla. My area of interest is Embedded Systems. Provided me with a chance, I think I can prove myself in helping my career and to the growth of the organisation.

Hi,
I've just finished my bachelor of business with a marketing major and public relations minor. My first 13 years of my working life was working as an automotive technician. Over the last 10 years I have been teaching automotive and more recently business.
As I have never really been a supporter of fuel driven cars, I have been thrilled to bits with everything to do with the Tesla. I was even lucky enough to take one for a drive. I am constantly showing my students how the Tesla is the car of the future and there's no stopping it.

My only wish is that I was actually working with Tesla in a marketing capacity here in Australia, where the need to break down misconceptions about electric cars still exists.

I totally believe in this car and wish I could afford one, or better still have one to use as a promotional tool.

So if you're listening to this Elon perhaps you could help speed things up for me?
