Matte nose cone?

Matte nose cone?

I want my nose cone to be matte instead of gloss, I may try spraying it with a matte coat. Or maybe hit it with a super-fine grit sandpaper and an orbital sander. Has anyone else done this? What did you do and how did it come out?

Go ahead, but it will cut your range in half. ;)

Someone did this over at TMC by applying a custom wrap.

Doesn't everything? ;-D

Yeah I would think the best way to do it would be a wrap or something like plasti-dip because you can remove it.

If you paint it, sand it, or sand blast it, if it doesn't turn out right, or doesn't look as good as you thought, that would really suck. You'd waste the expense of getting a new nose cone (or you'd ahve to live with the mistake), and even if you did order a replacement, it make take a long time for Tesla to get it to you.

Plasti-Dip would work just fine. Just don't use the spray can, use a sprayer.

Try the "etched look" window vinyl to make sure you like the look. It will last for a short while but at least it's undoable...
